Any 88-91 H30 owners know how many gallons their holding tank is rated for? I bought a 90 H30 which had the tank removed and I'd like to replace it. Did the boats have a fitted tank or a standard rectangular tankk. Does anyone have a schematic of the original fittings, Y valves, pumps, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't nhecessarily want...

...the replace the orginal system. Your needs may warrant a larger tank...a previous owner may have installed something else in the original tank location...a dozen reasons. Best thing to do is treat it as if it never had a tank and spec out the system from scratch. You'll find a lot of help in the Reference library in the Head Mistress forum...and of course, I'll be glad to help you.

Owner's manual

Hunter should be able supply you with a copy of the owner's manual for about $15. It should have fairly complete plumbing diagrams. Well worth having. Contact Greg Emerson [huntermarine@worldnet.att.net] I have the 1989 model, which has some differences with the 1990. On mine, the holding tank is in the head, in the cabinet beside the sink. The previous owned said it was an 18 gal. tank. It is more or less rectangular, except the bottom is wedge shaped to match the curvature of the hull. Hope this helps.

RE: Hunter 30 holding tank

In response to your question about the Hunter 30 holding tank.... I have a 1990 Hunter 30 in my charter fleet. The holding tank was and I repeat was located in the head , aft of the sink under the counter. The original tank located here was about 12 Canadian gallons. This is a useless size. We ripped this tank out and converted the space for general storage. WE THEN PUT A NEW TANK IN THE AFT LAZARETTE, ON THE PRT SIDE. THIS WAS DONE BY CUTTING A HOLE IN THE AFT CABIN BULKHEAD. THE TANK THAT IS THERE NOW IS ABOUT 26 CANADIAN GALLONS. You will need a new deck fitting and air vent which are not hard to do. My advice, don't put a tank in the head. Put a much bigger one in the port lazarette. If you need more info I can try to help at: discover@vianet.on.ca
