Holding Tank capacity?

Hello all,

After a crazy, but safe trailering of "Lyra" (V2941) from the Boston
area to South Carolina, she is safely in the backyard and ready for
some restoration. Right now, I am working on replacing the two
forward bulkheads under the v-berth and converting the water tank
area into a anchor chain locker (the water tanks will be moved to
under the berths). As I dealt with taking out the old holding tank
(no comment), it seems to me like it would be too small for a couple
of liveaboards.
Anyhow, I was wondering what was the ideal holding tank capacity for
a cruising couple.
For about 6 months or so, we will be at anchor in Charleston saving
up to take off and see some parts of the world. We would also like to
be able to maybe go up rivers, etc. My guess would be that we would
need enough holding tank capacity for two weeks without pumping out
or discharging out.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PS: If anyone is interested in a Vega water tank (the triangle one
under the v-berth) or an old Combi navigation instrument package (for
parts), let me know. I also have an old alcohol stove that came with
the boat.

I am interested in the work you are doing to replace the water tank to make
room for an anchor chain locker. I am ready to replace my fresh water lines
so this arrangement is timely.

Do you have any drawings?
