We are trying to find out if anyone had any experience in changing a "soft bladder" type holding tank on a C&C30, 1972 era with a solid poly tank? If so, where was the tank purchased from? Was it custom made or was it a "standard" unit? Any possible suppliers/manufacturers in the Toronto, Ontario area? Any specs, dimensions, drawings? What was the cost? Any advice out there? Thanks, Ghislain

Bladder ok for water, but not for waste

Your best source for a new waste holding tank is Ronco Plastics...they build TOP quality tanks for a very reasonable price and have more than 400 shapes and sizes to choose from, over a 100 of which are non-rectangular. Their catalog is on their website at http://www.ronco-plastics.com. They are a US mfr, whch means that shipping charges, including such things as "custom brokerage fees" can be a real killer. When I owned my company a lot of our customers who lived within an hour or two drive of the US border got US shipping addresses at places like Mailboxes Etc, or an independent who offered the same things, but at a lower price. Some even went in together with friends and dockmates, and took turns coming across to get what they'd ordered from West Marine and other US sources. It doesn't save any duty, but the amounts are usually low enough to avoid duty...and it saved 'em a fortune in "international" shipping charges, "customs brokerage fees etc.

Got it!!!

Peggy, No wonder you are so appreciated around here! In carrying out some more research yesterday, I did come across Ronco's name on a C$C owners' forum and had been checking out their website. You are very right about the importing costs and have given very valuable advise on crossing the border to get some goods and save $$$ on brokerage fees. We are 1 1/2 away from Buffalo and often go there to get gear and simply pay the taxes when crossing back home. But through more reading, we managed to find an owner of C&C 30 of the same era who had carried out the same changes. He lead us to a local Toronto supplier (HMP Marine) who actually had in stock the perfect matching tank. Make sense considering the volume of C&C's on this side of the border of Lake Ontario. We are picking up the tank today and installing it this week-end. Thanks a million! Ghislain
