I know this is probably a dumb question but here goes: My sail is quite dificult to hoist on my Oday 22. I sometimes have to Pull it up about a third of the way, let it down a foot and continue another couple feet and reverse over and over again, until it Just barely reaches the top of the mast. Alot of times it leaves a very ugly pocket at the bottom of the sail, that no mater how much pulling, I can't seem to get rid of. I'm purchasing NEW sails this year, and am hoping that the new one will be easier to hoist than the current sail. Is there anything I can do to make the sail raise easier? Thanks, Ken

About 3/4 down, look for posting titled "Lubing Main Sail Track". It's a similar problem to yours with good responses/suggestions. Definately sounds like your sail track needs cleaning and lubrication. Good luck.

stuck sail

you might consider changing to sail slugs/slides on new sail if you now are using a rope luff. change is a night/day difference in main sail handling.
