I have a '78 O'Day 25.
I have been doing some work on my centerboard and while I was at it I noticed that these things that have been sticking out of the bilge area underneath the access board.
When I was vacuuming I noticed that one of the two things was crumbling apart. It had been covered with the bilge paint but over the years water from the bilge had penetrated and the thing just crumbled.
It looks to be some type of a hoist ring that may have been used to place the keel. I have attached a picture of it.
I just wanted to check with any other 25 owner who may have these and find out what they are and if I should be doing anything with them - thanks -
