I think the first 36 were in 1983. And by the year 2000 Catalina has produced over 2000 c-36's for an average of over 117 boats a year. It is said that the C-36 is the most popular 36 sailboat ever produced and with an almost years-waiting list for a new one, it is still very popular. Has production increased in the last few years or has prodution been fairly constant through the years.
