I just saw a show on the building of the pyramids. The key to moving the heavy stone pieces was sailing technology. Using block and tackle, clam cleats, the desert winds and a kite the scientists reverse-engineered a lifting device that stood 22,000 lb monolith up. The kite was also used to move 2 and 4 ton stone blocks. This doesn't prove the system was used to build the pyramids, but the technology and materials were there. This may be trivial knowledge, but next summer, on the boat with non-sailing company...........well my imagination may run wild.
