When away from home, as I am this week, I gravitate to the nearest boat yard. I went to Waukegan, IL on Lake Mich really to take a look at a brokerage of a Nassau 34. I have my own Nassau, but this one was listed at over 10k less than what I payed so I had to see if I got taken. On the way I saw this fabulous looking boat from the road and pulled in only to find the owner prepping her for a launch later in the day. I had no idea Hinckley ever made boats this small. The owner was happy to give me the history of this classic beauty: http://www.sailingvoyageur.org/

Not many of the 28's left...

Not many of the 28's left but her bigger sister the Pilot 30's, in wood, are still around into the double digits here in Maine. Hinckley, Morris & Swan three of the best built sailboats on the planet and two of those brands are built right here in Maine... Of course we can't forget the Lyman Morse yard building the amazing Seguin line if you have an extra couple of million for a 46 footer..
