Does anyone have any experience with installing a hinged step mast on a Skipper 20? I am too old to have to pick up the mast entirely in order to trailer the boat.

Not sure what you're up against but I have a tabernacle for my Lancer 25. There's a pin that goes straight thru the mast, side to side , extending about 1" out each side. This is about 2" from the bottom. The tabernacle is bolted to the deck and has a J-shaped slot that the pin slides into. PM me your email and I'll send over some sketches. Also, my dad is new potentate of the shrine in Venice. We're coming down for the ball in a week and a half. I could swing by for a cup of coffee with free advice some morning if you like.

Hi!

Thanks for your response! We are searching for a 20-24' day sailer and came across a Skipper 20 that was of interest, but the mast was not stepped. It actually had a tabernacle! We are 68 and 71 years old and raising a mast, even with a tabernacle, is out of the question. FYI...the Skipper 20 did not work out, so our search continues. We would, however, be interested in your sketches. My personal email is mermaid104@gmail.com

Thanks...Sue Ellen and Doug
