HELP!!! I can't locate the HIN on my 1983 C-22. I've looked in ALL the obvious places including the stern and inside the cockpit, all I found on the plaque there was the serial number. Anywhere else I can look? I need to renew my registration to get legal and this is the first time they've asked for the HIN. THANKS. Aurora

Time to take a piece of paper and pencil to search for it. If the boat has been painted it will be harder to find, but not impossible. You will find it right under the rub rail on the starboard side of the transom. place the paper against the boat and rub a pencil across it. Good luck

Direct way to HIN
Aurora, Pick up the phone and call Catalina Yachts (818 884-7700), give them the sail/hull # from the plaque in the cockpit, and they will be able to trace down the HIN. It's on your transom, but if it's like mine, it's little more than a ghost image. Eric
