HIN and MIC

Used to be a person could go online and look up a HIN (hull ID #) and find out the manufacturer of a boat. Apparently that is no more! Seems you now have to pay for that service. So can someone give me the MIC (first three letters of the HIN) for a Vega? Thx Gordon

That would be "AMN". I did a search on " boat vin decoder " with plenty of results but that doesn't mean that they'll actually do what they say.Alan

The reason I asked was because of this boat on EBAY. It gives a HIN that
doesn't make sense, besides spelling the brand name wrong. There is a pic of
the HIN but it is hard to determine. Cheap Albin for someone on the east
coast.http://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Alban-27-FT-sailboat-/171898338315?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2805f07c0b&item=171898338315Gordon
