I have just purchased a 3 year old Catalina 34 mk II. A lovely boat to sail much to my surorise as previously i owned a wooden folk boat, very traditional long keel etc. I have one problem, when we light the oven it stays lit until it reaches the set temperature and then extinguishes itself. If we leave it on full ie at max temp it stays lit. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how did they fix it. Thanks in advance George

Pilot light and thermocouple position

I had a similar problem on my 320 last year. When the oven gets to the correct temp, the gas cuts off back to just a pilot light. Then, the pilot light is too far away from the thermocouple, and the thermocouple gets cooled off and shuts off the gas. I solved it by bending the thermocouple bracket slightly so that it is closer to the pilot light, and all is well. There is no way that I've found to adjust the pilot light, so the thermocouple is the best bet.
