Copied my design. Except when sailing, I remove light and replace with an American flag !
Mind you over the past few years we have had 3 BWI's where power boats have smashed into one of our moored boat at night. So anything to help prevent that from happening is a plus.

I bought cheap plastic ones on clearance 2 years ago for $1 each. I think I've still got 4 or 5 of the 8 I bought. I put 2 on the stern rails and 2 in the cabin top winches. They work great though they're not bright enough to be a legal anchor light. I've got the bright one on the mast for that though.
