Do any Catalina 250 (water ballasted) owners have any experiences of sailing in heavy seas and or high winds? How would they stand up to a knock down (no pun intended!) Any thoughts gratefully accepted by a potential purchaser... Rich.
H Rich: What do you consider high winds and seas . . like how many knots and waves of how many feet? Theoretically, I think you can sail most anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere if you reef your sail properly and watch the weather. And my understanding is that a gentleman sailed a Catalina 27 around the world - some modifications were made to the hull and rigging. So where is it you want to sail? Thanks Melody
