Hidden Holding Tank

Somewhere lurking under the cabin sole, near the Nav Station, I'm sure there lies hidden a holding tank that needs attention! Do you have any specific experience with the Aft Holding tank on a Hunter 40????? It is really hidden under the cabin sole, and it looks to me like mine has been leaking. I'm wondering how big this job will be. Do you know what the tank is made of? (It seems, from what I've been reading, that most Hunters have aluminum tanks installed. (I sure wish it were plastic!) If the tank needs replaced, and, if it's aluminum in my opinion, it does need replaced, does Peal Products stock a tank that would replace the aft tank on the H-40? (One unusual thing I've also noticed is that both the holding tanks on my boat have the pumpout connections on the TOP of the tank.) Hunter tells me that there is a pickup tube inside, but is a plastic tank manufactured with top pumpout connections? Although I haven't actually seen my aft tank yet, I believe it would be difficult to run discharge hose to the bottom of the tank. Any info you might have would be appreciated!!!! Thanx, Norm

Step one: find the tank and gain access to it..

Till you can see what you have, and what condition it's in, there's no way to know what you need to do...You could have anything from a leaking aluminum tank to nothing more than some hose that's in need of replacing. Yes...we can supply a sturdy thick-walled plastic replacement, and yes--with the fittings on the top. In fact, it's my favorite way to do things.
