Peggie, Finally getting around to installing SeaEra toilet and of course - IT FITS... but I'm about 6" short of the current discharge hose. The hose is fine no odors since I flush it out real good after sailing. Now to the question. Can I join a section of hose into this or do I have to run a new hose all the way to the tank? Another thing, this toilet does not have a vented loop which I found interesting. Any thoughts on this? BTW we are going to hold off the installation of a MSD until next year. Joan won't let me spend that much until we are sure of it. Jim

Ok to join the hose...

However, I'd ask Raritan whether, with that particular toilet, it's best to put the joint close to the toilet or close to the tank. Vented loops (I assume you're referring to the intake) aren't included as standard equipment on any toilet, 'cuz they're only needed when the toilet is below the waterline...so including one would only add unnecessary cost to every unit for a part that would just be discarded in many cases. You're holding off on installing an MSD until you're sure of what? That they'll remain legal? You can be sure of that now...in fact, there's a bill pending in Congress that would make 'em legal even in "no discharge" waters.
