Peggie I'm halfway through installing a Sea Era, on fresh water, piped directly to a 16 gal tank, with a diverter on the discharge going to either the deck pumpout, or through a Whale Gusher 10, to the thru-hull seacock. The thru-hull is just below the water line. The discharge line comes off a standpipe from the top of the tank, which is also just about at the water line. So the entire discharge is darn near horizontal as it runs through the Y valve and the whale gusher to the thru Hull. Since I "should" be closing the seacock at all times except when I'm pumping out, can I get away without a vented loop? Or will I be fighting an adverse flow the entire time I'm pumping out? The bottom of the sandpipe is about 24" below the thru hull. Thanks,Hugh Franklin
