Hi Peggy, I am sure this is in your book, but it is on the boat in FLL and I now live in Tampa... but anyway.... I have the Jabsco head in my H380 and I am sick of the pump screwing up (cracked housing etc) and would like to upgrade the pump to a PHII. Is the PHII the best option for the "cleanest" install as far as the footprint of the Jabsco? Anything else I should know? Thanks'

It's a bit of effort, but definitely worth it

The PH II "footprint" does not match the Jabsco...you'll have a couple of mounting bolt holes to fill. The PH II has a 1.5" discharge...so if your Jabsco has a 1" discharge, you'll neither need a 1" x 1.5" reducer or a new discharge hose. The PH II discharge is also on the front of the pump, so whether you need a reducer or not, you'll most likely need an adapter and a short section of hose. Except for those minor issues, it's a piece of cake. And you'll find plenty of people here who've upgraded to a PH II who'll agree that it's MORE than worth the effort.

Peggie...

discharge is on the REAR of the head. Raw water INLET is on the front of the housing and that is the main difference between it and other heads. Definitely worth the effort!!!

Oops...you're right!

My brain must have short-circuited when I typed that (proving that the mind really is the second thing to go!). It is the intake that's on the front of the PH II, not the discharge. Thanks for catching it!
