I use a sony action cam. This is in my opinion the best kite to use. It flies like a balloon and folds compact. I use an H shaped winder with 200 lb line I ordered off Ebay. 200 lb line not necessary, but I wanted a strong line that would not break. Fly the camera 25 feet or so below the kite for more stable pics. Search PICAVET for how to mount camera to string. Hope this helps. Really adds wow factor to your sailing pics. My family loves them. I also do video. I have video of my boats sailing (C22 and H26) from the air. Last year captured dolphins leading my C22 from the air. Really cool. Cheaper and easier to control while sailing in wind than a drone. In my opinion better.

Hey DGreen, what kind of kite is that? I take it that the cylindrical thing is some sort of device to keep the kite oriented square to the wind?

Cool setup!

Thanks DG. I really like this idea. Have you posted any video to YouTube? The beauty here is that you don't have to worry about turning back to retrieve your drowned copter. You have a sailboat, you want video of her sailing, the sails have to be up for that. The last thing you want is to have to drop the sails and motor back for your stuff. I imagine that shooting with the sun on your stern helps to hide the line and enhance the beauty of the shot.

Oh, almost forgot. That looks like a 100W panel. Can I ask how it is mounted? Thanks again.
