New ODay owner here with an 18ft OdaySailor3(1987). I have most of the rigging figured out with an Oday guide I printed from the internet but the aft boom rigging is different from the picture in the guide. 1)I am holding a block with no place to connect it. 2)Does one of the halyards connect to the aft boom area? 3)How does one get rust out of a sail? 4)Does anyone have a good picture of the boom rigging (better yet the whole boat) and the rigging that would be more specific to my beautiful craft? I thought I'd have it on the mooring yesterday but got stuck. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Edwina

aft boom rigging

Sounds like you have aft boom rigging. The link to the sketch is one way of connecting the mainsheet. There are no halyards at the aft end of the boom. The block on top is for the clew outhaul of the sail. If there is a block under the boom at the very back it is for end boom sheeting. If you ALSO have a mid boom block in the middle, your mainsheet goes up from your traveller at the transom to the end block, forward to the mid boom block, and likely down to the cb where it is cleated. See sketch of rigging at the bottom of page 2. To get rust out of a sail try either CLR, or Tilex.

Thanks

I pulled the info off the internet-thanks so much for the lead. Now I think I can get The Angel Wing in the cove this Thursday. Best wishes.
