HELP!

hi, i have a small sail boat with big spots flaking off the hull. how do i repir this. also, my whole mast rotates, and there is a little pully system between the bottom of the mast and the boat, about 2 ft long with three ropes. what is this for? Thanks

You have gelcoat flaking form underlying glass

flaking paint?

has the boat been painted with enamel and the prepwork was vwry poor? what type of boat is this? is it flaking off all over? its pretty rare for gelcoat to flake off from the fiberglass that usually from improper catalyzing when the boat was being built and even then those where early on fiberglass boats. as for the mast question jims right , you need to hit up the other forum, is thi some sort of racing boat?as they are the one's with adjustable mast rake and that's for sail control
