O'Day Widgeon 1985 Chesapeake Bay
Hello, I was just given a ~12.5 ft O'Day boat with HIN XDY A5221 G4 85 that also has a 25 year O'Day anniversary plate. Research so far tells me this is an O'Day 12 and/or Widgeon, but trying to verify and look at finding replacement parts, rigging, spars, manuals, etc. Any help with my journey would be appreciated! Thanks, Stewart

O'Day Widgeon 1985 Chesapeake Bay
:plus:
The owner of this outfit used to be the parts manager for O'Day. He has a wealth of information
Thanks to both of you for the advice. Given that it is an 1985 model and it is approx the right length, I am right in thinking that it is a Widgeon - @Sunbird22358 - I think your previous posts, pictures, manuals, etc reinforce that it is a Widgeon, but mine has the very "1980s" striping too. I just have the attached night pic. I don't want to start getting parts until I am dead sure on the model.

Thanks again all.
Stewart

The "A" in the Hull ID number indicates that this is a Widgeon. Widgeon was a sloop (2-sails, also optional spinnaker), the O'Day 12 was cat-rigged (1-sail)
The O'DAY 12 was only built from 1976-78, so a 1985 model did not exist anyway, but that isn't widely known.
I have included a print of how to read the O'DAY HINs.

D&R may still have a copy of the original "Rigging Sheet" Manual, not sure, but I created an Expanded version of the Manual (50+ pages) myself, check out the Posting on this Forum, or you can send me a "private" message for ordering info.
