Thanks for your help. I stripped the walls of our '79 h33 and am looking for a decent replacement material I can adhere to the walls. Should I replace the 1" foam that was on there. I removed it too because of mildew. We don't use the boat in the winter so I'm not worried about insulation. Also, on the cabin sole I'm considering a bound carpet with a rubber pad under to reduce slippage figuring if we get it wet I can hang it until we sail next weekend. I'm not gluing the carpet down. My first priority before doing this is to remove all of the toe rail bolts first and rebed them one at a time. There is water egressing through many of them. The process I've come up with here is to pull the bolts, fill the hole with silicone and reset the bolts. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sailrite as a source.

You can go to the Sailrite site and order their samples of "wallcover" material. I have one at home. I think there are six or eight 2"x2" pieces of different hues, half are foam backed. I have read here on HOW that you can buy it cheaper where auto headliner material is sold. Your toerail solution should work but may not be necessary. Have you tried simply tightening the bolts, maybe with a second locknut on every third or fourth one? Hunter used a butyl rubber under there, kind of like a flat garden hose. It seems to hold up, my H37C is a 1979. Just keeping the bolts tight seems to prevent water ingress.
