main discharge hose?

is it the engine exhaust hose? Assuming you havew access to it, a heat gun on low usually makes easy work removing a stuck hose

The discharge hose from the head pump

should be routed ultimately to the holding tank. There may be a vented loop at a high point and a valve for tank or overboard discharge (outside 3 mi limit) as well. I assume you are planning on replacing this hose so you will need to get access to the holding tank and vented loop (if you have one). This kind of hose can be a bit of a PITA to work with so you will want reasonable access. I don't envy doing this chore. Good luck.

put on some gloves. nose clip.

CUT IT in pieces! If your oday is like mine the bunk only has a small opening right? You can make that bigger and use plywood to cover it. Any type of work you do on the holding tank system is going to be vile and discusting no matter how you do it. good luck.

A couple of things that should help...

Warming the hose makes it easier to remove from fittings. On most boats on which hoses pass through inaccessible areas, connecting the new hose to the old and pulling it through as you pull the old hose out can make the job a lot easier. Use a male-male connector...cut the edges of the old AND the new hose as cleanly as possible, 'cuz you want to be able to butt 'em together tightly to make the smootheest unbroken connection possible. So you want to use PVC cement to keep both pieces on the connector...'cuz hose clamps can get caught and duct tape isn't likely to hold. Vented loops and y-valves--which may or may not be needed and/or may be in the wrong place-= can add a new challenge, but if you have just a LITTLE more mechanical ability than is needed to turn a doorknob, you should be able to figure out to deal with those.

thanks to all for hose help

.i am totally new to this sort of posting{or any) and have this so lodged in my mind that i'm not being clear.the hose from head to vented loop in the hanging locker is disconnected from the fittings but stuck or wedged and will not pull thru. there have been earlier posts from people who have replaced hoses on oday 34/35's and iwas wondering if there is an alternative to pulling up the cabin sole or the sole and other parts of the head.there is evidence that the hose was kinked before, just below the head access, can't leave the hoses.can't,even if i wanted to cut the hose. in this installation the hose crosses the companionway either under the sole or in a chase/threshold of some plastic material and enters the hanging locker where it runs up to the vented loop. it pulled approx 18 inches before hanging up.tried heat.hose lube don't know if there is something about this boat that would help.

May be a REALLY dumb suggestion, but...

Going only on your description, it sounds like your sanitation plumbing may be a Rube Goldberg (you're prob'ly too young to know who he was) nightmare. So what if you just left all of it that you can't reach to cut out in place and ran new hoses that make sense. Otoh, maybe yours do...but without more info I'm just guessing. If you'd like to email me a diagram, I'm in all the owner directories and I'll be glad to help you. You might also want to check out the link below.
