Does anyone know of any other motors that share parts, (prop housing) with the Honda B75 (7.5 hp)?
4 of the impeller housing bolts snapped off. They are surface level and below, (the housing already removed) so I am not able to get a bite on the studs.
I have tried penetrating oil, tapping, heat, drilling and extracting with no luck what so ever. This is some kind of chemical bond or serious corrosion.
I have searched for parts, but having very little luck finding things for this motor (honda b75 serial number 4000-10000, mid 70's, as far as I can tell). My question is this: Is there a motor that is more readily available that I can just bolt on a new or used prop housing, that has same gears etc?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Googling the parts numbers or searching ebay usually gets good results.

Thanks caguy and stu.
I have found the impeller and seals, bearings (through google of course). But unfortunately, the housing, vertical shaft, etc. are all obsolete parts now. I was looking for a quick fix to the broken bolts. but not having luck finding cross references.
I guess I will continue to work with the one I have, and try to drill it out larger, and re-thread.

Not sure if you are aware of them, but when done Helicoils....

...might be an answer. When I've had a real fastener problem heat with a torch is usually what takes care of it for me, but I hate to recommend that not having the problem right in front of me. The other thing that works some times is a center punch or chisel and hitting the bolt as close to the edge as possible in counterclockwise manner if they are right-hand threads. Good luck,

merlinuxo: thanks, I had not come across them before! I will check them out tomorrow. looks like just what I need.

Sumner: thank you, I have not used the heli's before. I think I will try that if I cant just find a bolt in replacement.
