My thanks to R.W.Lauden for his feedback on the PY 23. and the Catalina 25. As I have seen a few PY 23s for sale with trailers (East of the Mississippi) at prices around $3000 and Catalinas without trailers for $4500 and up; I have to assume that the Cat 25s are more boat. Thanks to Mike on comments about ODays and Catalina 25. From what information I was able to put together, the ODays 25 and Catalina 25 are similar in quality, features and sailing characteristics. The Catalina has the bonus of a Pop-top.Thanks to Tom for his comments about the Hunter 26. Since I did not mention a budget figure in my previous article, the Hunter 26 would be a good option. However, our budget for Boat, trailer, 4 stroke engine( only type allowed on Tahoe) and required gear and upgrades, is $10,000.00. Hunter 26s start at $12,000 without trailers.A boat that seems to be another option is the Precision 23. I like the partial keel centerboard design and the information I have read on it states that it sails better than the Catalina or the ODay 25s. Does anyone have any info about this boat and are there any on the West Coast?Back to the Catalina 25, what are the trouble points I should be looking for when looking at 20 year old boats. How difficult is it to repair the centerboard and/or its raising/lowering mechanism. Thanks for any replys, Bill
