help! - strange shaft log

I bought a replacement stuffing box from Buck Algonquin before removing the old one from my '78 H30. Once I got the old one off, I discovered that the new one wouldn't work because it has a 1 3/4" ID hose, and the shaft log is 1 5/8" OD. I can't find anybody that makes a stuffing box with a 1 5/8" ID hose. Does anybody know where I can get a stuffing box that works on an H30?? Shaft diameter is 1".

It's been a slow day on the Cherubini forum. I kind of feel like I'm just talking to myself here, but in case anyone's interested, I've found a source for the stuffing box w/ 1" shaft and 1 5/8" hose. There's one made by Marine Hardware, right here in Redmond, WA (www.marinehardware.com) and it's carried by Fisheries Supply, in Seattle. It's been difficult to find, but at least I finally know the right part exists!

If anyone is interested, Hunter says that the packing is 3/16" if the box is Bronze and 1/4" if its plastic.
