I need to get an HDMI cable through the port cabinet to the area behind the forward port seat cushion. The holding tank vent hose goes up and down through there in that corner, but there's not enough room in the existing hole to shove the end of the HDMI cable anywhere. I don't like making holes in things, so the less invasive, the better. The bottom of the cupboard area is pretty thick fiberglass and seems structural, so what are my safe options?
To me, it seems like going through the teak would be the safest thing.

Ideas?

The wood trim piece has some cap plugs in it. Are there screws underneath them? I'm thinking that if I remove the trim piece, I could go through the base of the wood in the bottom corner of the shelf and sort of hide it with the trim piece after. Are the caps removable without destroying them? or will have to get new ones and will they already be stained the right color, etc, etc....?

I assume you dismissed the wireless alternative? In every boat we've ever had, these wiring problems always gave me a pain until I finally acquired a tech-savvy dock neighbor who enlighten me.

Make the boat yours - make holes!!! Don't be afraid. You can do it.
