Hi all, I would like to rebuild the fuel pump on my 1990 Johnson Sailmaster 9.9 outboard . How does this thing come out? I have one bolt removed but there seems to be another bolt behind the starter. I tried to remove the starter but then the flywheel seems to be in the way.
I can guess the steps as follows:
1. Remove flywheel
2. Remove starter
3. Remove fuel pump
I am hoping that someone here has done this before and can save me some trial and error. Can I just pull the flywheel off or might I break something in the process. If not I'll break down and order a service manual but I'm never sure that the information I need will be in there. The engine is electric start, tiller version, model # J10SELESC
Thanks in advance,
Joe

I was in a shop waiting for a part to be made last week, and while waiting I read the Clymer manual for our 1990 9.9hp Evinrude (pretty much same as your Johnson). It had pretty good material and I think the Clymer manual is a lot less than a shop manual, and you can find them easier.
