Hi all , does anyone out there have the exact measurements for the standing rigging on a 1977 Hunter 25.(or know where I can find them) I have checked the archives and although there is some conversation on this there are no actual measurements. These numbers are for the insurance company (hurricane damage) and I cannot get at my mast to measure. I'm not sure I'd be measuring correctly so it would be better to have the factory specs so to speak... TIA Craig S/V Wind Toy 1977 H25

Call the sailmakers'.

Craig, contact any reputable sailmaker who can provide a copy of the sailmaker's drawing to the insurance company. Brad Linthicum in Somerdale NJ (he is on the Web too) has an original '70s blueprint of the H-25 rigging that my dad personally gave him (it even has the original hull graphic drawn on it, which I am applying to my own 25). The friendly neighborhood sailmaker is always a wealth of good information. I'll lay good money you'll get faster and friendlier service out of him than out of a Hunter Marine which is unfortunately loathe to provide much info about Gen-1 boats. FYI-- Spar/sail dimensions of Hunter 25 ('73-'78-ish): I (jib hoist from deck) = 30'0" J (foretriangle foot) = 10'6" P (mainsail hoist) = 24'10" E (mainsail foot) = 8'0 (boom is actually about 9'4") The sailmakers typically have rigging wire lengths as well. These are hard to calculate exactly at the initial design phase because of variable fitting lengths, possibly-unknown attachment points at the spar and chainplates, etc. Once a prototype boat is rigged that info is usually lodged with the rigger/sailmaker who did the work. I have not seen any rigging-wire dimensions in my dad's archives for this boat (as yet). Hope that can help some. JC 2
