Good o'day everyone,

I have a 25 from 1979. My boat has been a dream come true except for a couple of things. The biggest issue of all is a missing sail clip guide. On the mast there os a screw hole next to the recession where you insert the sail clips. This piece is supposed to keep the clips from popping out of the track when you raise the sail. Im missing this piece and cant find one anywhere! Hence, in the 4 years of owning this gem I have never raised the sail without a bunch of clips coming free.
Pleas help, i could use any specs, a picture of one, someones old one, anything that can help me make one or a place to get one.
Thanks everyone
Jason

Mast mate helpt you get to the top of the mast. Im looking for the piece or pieces that keeps the sail clips on yhe tack from popping out of the track on the mast when you raise it.

I use to have an Oday, with the same type of slide stop. I was a piece of SS in the shape of a half moon with the straight side facing the track. The bolt hole was oblong so it could be adjusted. Perhaps if you have a grinder you could fabricate one out of a scarp piece of SS or a larger SS fender washer?

I drilled a hole in the sail track under the sail slide and then screwed in a threaded pin from a shackle. Works great. Have to take it out with a pliers is all.

I have a similar problem when lowering sail, the sail luff slides fall out, there was a maybe 4" tall x 1" wide that covers the open wider track groove. Lost mine years ago, made one out of aluminum 1/8" thick, looks like it grew there......Red

Make sure to examine the sail track before buying a gate for it. ODay likely used a few different types masts with different track profiles. Also, mine has a small hole for lanyard, which is handy when reefing.
