The fabric hull liner in my boat (O'Day 28) is coming loose. Does anyone have any advise on re-attaching without damaging the fabric or having the adhesive bleed through the material?

Yes,

Mike, I just bought a 25 O'Day in the fall. The fabric hull liner was not connected. I scraped the old, what I believe was rubber, backing off the hull and the back of the fabric. I then shop-vaced everything. I was pretty messy. Then applied exterior carpet adheasive. Then relaid the fabric and rolled it with a 1 1/2" dia. x 4" laminate roller. It worked great. There were no stains on the fabric so I didn't have to deal with that. r.w.landau

Try silicone

I had a similar problem on our Oday 23 and, at the suggestion of a friend, I successfully used clear silicone (as in the caulking-type compound and it seems to work just fine. Also, no adhesive-type odors

Hull Liner fix

I replaced the hull liner in my aft cabin using only double-faced tape for outdoor applications, which I purchased at Home Depot. Works great.
