Help identifying these electrical leads

These images are looking aft along the port side of a Yanmar 2GMF on a 1984 Hunter 31. I discovered this while I was removing the old insulation from the engine compartment. Can anyone tell me what these leads should go to? I have a feeling it is a high temp alarm and one of the previous owners thought it was a nuisance.

Kloudie will know but these items are shown in the electrical diagram of your manual. As I recall the blue is not used except on the 1 GM. I don't remember the other unused items.

Do you by any chance have a high output alternator installed? I really can't make out that plug nor the wire colors in the pic...

Did not see picture 2. My comments are good for picture 1 only. By the way the other one in picture 1 is an alarm feed (boot leak) if you have a sail drive - the colors are black and red/white.

What are they connected to at the engine side. We've found that pictures of wires hanging in space are pretty hard to diagnose on the internet without a wiring diagram or at least some kinda clue. :):):)

The attached document may help... I'm assuming that this is a Yanmar.... You may need to uncover the wire colors

Exactly, Charles.. The blue is only used on the 1GM so it is where it is supposed to be.. The two wire connector... if that white looking one is actually a white with red tracer, it is the water alarm for a saildrive, which I don't think was installed on the H-31.

The big one with a boot on it, I dunno about.. If I were to guess, I would say that it might be (have been?) the "E" lead or ground lead from the original alternator.

As to picture 2 the cover boot makes me think 12 DC hot. The boot is surely factory Yanmar. The only two- wire boot protected item I remember is at the starter solenoid 'B' as shown on PGI's diagram.
