I thought I'd try another article with a different title that really lets you all know what I want, I.E.;Does anyone have any information on the slanted deck design of the Hunter 33? Her Hull identification # is HUN60042M78B-33. Was it an option at purchase or have I aquired a custom unit? I've just been wondering becase my hunter looks nothing like any other I've seen. Ben

Early

Your 33 is an early production boat. I'm not certain of the exact date but from what I've been able to garner the deck/cabin top design were changed somewhere around 1979. Mine, an '83 and probably the last 33 built, has the squared cabin roof design, which provides more head room forward. Based on the early brochures I have the interior layouts were the same although materials appear to be different. There are slight dfferences in the cockpit, but not so much as you'd realy notice. From what I've seen, when it comes to mold related items, (hulls and decks) Hunter don't do custom!

HUN32121A000 HUN - Hunter 321 - It's a 320, 1st mold 21 - 21st one built A - January, B, February, etc 000 - Last three digits of the year built I don't know how they used to do them, but that's the explanation I got at the factory for ours.

More on Hull Numbers that doesn't match previous

...but hey, you gotta love it when the factory guys tell you something with a straight face, no? Then again, your boat is a 2000 model so maybe things have changed. Maybe I can help with the original: HUN60042M78B-33 HUN: Hunter 6: Got me on this one (See H31description below.) 0042: Hull number M: Model style/layout plan/rig (If this was months of the year M is the following January since L would equal December????) 78: Year built B: Revision 33: Model Mine is a bit different: HUN31546F585 HUN: Hunter 31: Model 546: Hull number F: Fitted with 2GM20F for freshwater cooling operation 5: May 85: Year built Obvoiusly there's no standard other than make and year. Go figure.
