Lighting struck next to the boat the other day while I was standing off weighting to assist another that was in distress. I had ordered all electrical components on board our boat to be disconnected. The running lights and VHF were left on due to the nature of the situation, the refrigeration was also inadvertently left on, and all of these components including the batteries are now history.... I need to source out a supplier for a new compressor; the condensing unit is 9 years old and was working perfectly until the incident. I'm in the A/C business and am capable of replacing the unit and have the proper gas to do the job.... I just need a source for parts... Thanks Thorp Thomas Exeter, NH

Thorp, These pople have everything that you need. I replaced my compressor this spring. The new brushless motor draws a little less current and is variable speed.

Is it an A/B?

Thorp, Is it an Adler Barbour? If so (and I assume it's a ColdMachine) the compressors are no longer available. If you were to buy a newer digital style (BD35 or BD50) you would need to do some retrofitting and replace the module (which usually blows in a strike). The cost would be close to a complete, new system.
