OK...I have one more thing to service before I can actually sail this thing. I have a Hood Seafurler 2 for my Genny, I have two problems the previous owner left me with... 1. I need to replace the extrusion that is just above the drum (I have the extrusion). 2. I need to replace the furling line on the drum. I know that I will have to run a line from the mast to the bow and secure the mast, then pull the pins to undo the forstay. Beyond that, I am lost and can find no info on the Seafurler 2. Does everything simply slip off after I remove the pins? Will it become self-explanatory ove I get the forestay disconnected? Am I in for a real headache, or is this like a one to two hour job??? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Griffin (almost) s/v Brighid's Crossing Lake Erie Islands

some suggestions

You have the procedure right so far. After that, you loosen some allen screws and the drum seperates and you slip the new line in. Go to www.pomanette.com and they have exploded drawings, parts, tech help and also sell pre-spliced furling lines.

No Seafurler 2 info on their site

Unfortunately, there is no Seafurler 2 info on their site...just Seafurler 5. Why whould I need a specially spliced line? The line I am replacing looks like it goes into a hole in the bottom of the drum and is knotted off somehow. If I need a special line, I suppose I'd like to know quickly! ;-) Thanks! Griffin
