My 89 272 Oday was destroyed by a Lightning strike & fire. I want to replace the boat. Does anyone know of a Oday 272 for sale or are interested in selling theirs. I have a trailer and am in central Wis. area. Thanks for your help

A few places

Doug, Sorry to hear about your boat. Check out the "Boats for Sale" tab on this site. There are a few 272's available. You may also want to consider www.yachtworld.com, www.sailboats4sale.com, and even EBay. You might find something close that you could take a look at. There are a lot of used boats in the midwest. Good luck. Dave

Doug, mine may be on the market

Sorry about your loss. My first mate is clamoring for more room now that five of the grandkids are old enough to sail and have shown a great deal of interest in it. We are looking for a 30 footer, but won't buy until we sell our 272. I have logs of every upgrade and maintenance project I've done or had done on the boat since I bought it in 1995. It is a very nice looking boat which I would keep if I were sailing single-handed as I have done in the past, but it looks like we are growing a crew here on Lake Erie. I don't have to describe the sailing characteristics to you as you are a previous(?) owner. I have written a detailed review of the boat which you will find in the Boat Reviews. Read it if you haven't already. My e-mail address is tomclaud@wcnet.org if you wish to discuss it further. Tom

Good Prospect

I just bought a 272, but while I was shopping, I was considering a boat in Massachusetts. The owner has her on land, no motor, but the boat looks sound all around except for some cosmetics inside. If I had had a trailer I probably would have bought her. The price is very low and probably scares people, but I saw the boat and it's well worth it. Owners name is Kevin Silva, his ad is in the listings on this website - he is in Bridgewater MA and looking for $6750 for the boat. My wife didn't want me taking on any projects, so we've bought one ready-to-go in the water, but Kevin's boat is fundamentally in great shape and a real bargain. He was very honest and up front with me about condition. Worth a look. Good Luck. John Charde
