Na, it's spirit is just fine! However the cabin bilge cover is shot. My boat is a 1978-37cherubini/cutter.Is there anybody able to reproduce this article? Any other suggestions? Thanks
The existing cover can be used as a template. If you want to get realy slick, affix the old cover under the new plywood and cut out using a trim bit in a router. Perfect reproduction, original imperfections and all.
I redid our sole, at least the v berth and head areas s far, with The Ultimate Sole..great stuff to work with...Super results...I sell all sorts of supplies to refinsih teak, and I bought this stuff at retail I was so pleased with the results that I had seen..here is the link http://www.taytrowe.com/I have no interest other than a satified customerEd
I do appreciate your response. Where do you get the plywood, that matches the plank style surface?Living in Vermont, I don't have access to such materials. Thanks again.
Isn't it just marine grade plywood with a teak and holly laminate glued on top? You should be able to get maring grade plywood at your local lumberyard, the teak & holly laminate might have to be ordered.... look up sole replacement in the archives, I believe others have posted good sources for the laminate.
Scott:Here's a list of wood suppliers some of whom have teak/holly plywood. Be prepared for sticker shock and you'll probably have to by a 4x8 sheet. I have bought scrap pieces on Ebay, but not from any of these suppliers.
Thanks again one and all for your responses! Baby's gonna get her new---well you know I'm using your resources, and am starting to get a handle on it- Scott
