I am a brand new sailor owner, haven't even stepped my mast yet, I own a 22 cataline l087, I love it however my keel cable broke and don't know how or the best way to fix, Does anybody have any experience or suggestion. I do not have use of a boat lift. No marina on my lake. Just a boat launch. 705-384-2404 please call if you feel inclined to call.

If you have a trailer, it sounds like you'll have to very carefully get the boat on the trailer - especially so the the keel will line up with its support on the trailer. Ideally you'll be able to slowly get the keel pushed up and pivot into its hull-opening without being twisted and putting undo pressure on the keel bolts and pivot point as you pull the boat onto the trailer. Next, after you're on level ground, you'll have to get some cinder blocks and place them under either side of the stern and using a two jacks, jack up the stern of the boat high enough to get access to the top end of the keel where the cable attaches. Unwind the old cable from the crank inside the cabin and replace with a new one that you can purchase from Catalina Direct online. All of this assumes there's no damage. good luck.
