The Hunter 460 and 410 helmans seat can be lowered to provide access to the swim platform. It uses two rubber covered snap latches to lock it in the up position. These are very hard to secure and generally don't hold. Saw the 2002 Hunter 460 at the Annapolis Show and they have solved the problem by installing a small self locking cleat (small racing sailboat part) on the wall between the seats and then running the lift line through the self locking cleat. All you do is pull up the seat and then pull the excess line through the cleat until it is tight so it locks the seat in place. To lower the seat, you push a tab on the cleat and the line is released and the seat can be lowered.

mine was solved by adding spacers

In spite of the above, I never lock it anyway. Can you consider a situation where the seat could flip open? Warren

I'll have to check that, as..

I always leave the seat down in the swim platform postion.
