I'm doing a complete redo of everything moveable on my Pearson. Will be installing a new helm (Lewmar Cobra)and making a helm seat. (none present on stock boat) Now that everything is off and the cockpit empty I remember to think about distance. The helm seat will be considerably forward of the transom so I can't just use the same place for the helm. Nor was it good before, too far away. Ergo my request: Could some of you that make frequent trips to your boat: 1) measure the distance from the helm seat to the wheel. 2) Tell me if your distance is comfortable, too far, too close, etc. 3) Give me an idea of your size and how you generally use the helm. I'm 5'9" and my spouse 5'6". So far we prefer sitting directly behind the helm. Thanks. Geoff
