Looking for some advice on ways to reinforce / rebuild /replace the wheel at the helm of the Beneteau 523. Like most wheels, this one takes abuse as skippers try to balance themselves while heeling. Thanks.
I can't imagine the force required to bend a Bene wheel. I have an OC400 and have torqued and pulled it pretty good at times, but never came close to bending it. I usually try to put the major load on the round rail in front of the wheel. Also, I take my wheel off most of the time at the slip, at anchor, moored, etc. and only mount it when actually underway.
