I'm looking for a helm cushion to relieve leg fatigue and to raise my line-of-sight up a bit. Taylor Made makes such a product but it doesn't work for me because the stick-to-the deck components would not allow me access to my steering cables (they actually straddle the panel and the deck. I tried.) 12" x 24" is about the right size. I've tried standing on a flotation cushion which works well while motoring but when I heel, it's like standing on ice! Does anyone use something that does the job for them? Thanks!!

You may be in for something custom.
Ken
You know, I asked one the of the custom closed-cell-foam cockpit cushion purveyors if they made such a thing (stock) at the Miami show. They don't. At that time I thought that the Taylor Made was going to work so I didn't really discuss custom with them. Oops.

I have a raised helm seat cushion that I don't use. It is closed cell construction and measures:
20" bottom, 14" wide at top, 5" hi and 15.5" deep. It is white with green piping on edges and has tabs front and rear to secure it on the seat. Hardly used.

If it is something you are interested let me know and I'll try to post a picture and put it on the "items for sale" site.

I had looked at Seadek, which manufactures a closed cell EVA helm station pad ---
relatively expensive, made locally in Melbourne, FL,
the one I had considered was $100 --- I was in Bed, Bath, & Beyond with the Admiral, and I noticed a rubber door mat that was made to look like TEAK slats,, bought that! custom cut it to my helm station, easy to do, easy to remove, allows water to pass into the scuppers, doesn't move when we heal, and is comfortable, and gives me an additional 1/2" +/- view of the bow,,, and $20!! and looks better than the Seadek,,

My new to me boat came with a helm cushion. You can see it a little in this picture. It has a strap and a snap on each side that holds it in place. Very comfortable. I am guessing it was custom made. Also you can see a fold down step I made for my wife. Her feet do not touch the ground when she sits on the Helm hump, they will.

Seat

Do you have a swing down step/seat that opens up out the back of your cockpit
like my 07 H-36.
Here is some photo's of how I added a folding seat cushion at the helm and even added a extension pole to raise the seat so I can see over my cahartplotter. and it swings left and right and I sit in it even when heeling and I remove it when not needed and can still step off back of boat into dinghy.
I can't find all the photo's how I did it but will look more if interested.

Here's my seat on my 44DS.
