Hi all you H260 wheel steering boat owners, here is a little info you might find useful. My H260 had one of the turning blocks for the steering cable misaligned which caused the cable to rub and chatter and made the helm feel rough. So this year's list of commissioning projects included removing and remounting the thing so it was better aligned with the cable path. These are the blocks at the aft end of the lazzarett (under the stern seat) that direct the steering cable to the rudder post. When I stuck my head in there to unbolt the thing, much to my delight, I noticed that the base of the block is slotted at the attachement points. This was a two minute, no hassle project to loosen, adjust, then retighten the block in a better aligned position. Added a little grease to the block and adjacent cable and the thing runs as smooth as silk.If your helm is rough, take a look at the turning blocks. They may be a little off. While your at it, check to see that the cable is not too loose. If there is too much play, the thing can jump the block and might jam, leaving you with a stuck rudder. The adjustment to take out excess slack is on the bracket that connects the cables to the rudder post. It is much easier to adjust standing on the ground with the boat on the trailer than hanging over the stern trying not to drop your tools or fall in the water.Fair winds...Tom
