Congratulation!
I own #257 for over 30 years. Great boat! If you have any question about your boat, ask me. (I guess we have identical Vegas)

Nowell,
Welcome! I'm also pretty new to the Vega board. But everyone here is extremely helpful!

We also purchased our Vega this year. She is on the hard and we are starting on our to-do
list, too. It sounds like we are planning on a lot of the same things you are planning. We
recently finished the combi overhaul, re-fitting the stuffing box (which doesn't actually
have any stuffing) and winterizing the engine, head and freshwater tanks. We are also
planning on repairing/repainting the hull, topsides and deck this year (probably in the
spring). I am also working on the electrical (replace all of it), adding an Airex and re-
working the starboard berth in the main cabin. My wife is working on a new tiller cover,
mainsail cover, and dodger.

In the spring I am going to convert to jiffy reefing, so she is also going to add two sets of
reefing points to our mainsail (there is one in it already).

I can't wait to hear about the things you are planning and working on and anything you
find out. I'll share as well as we start to complete things.

#2930 "Emma Gail" here from Seabook. Mine survived Ike as well. Tough little boats. I have done quite a bit of work to my boat and have found this site invaluable. And they are a funny bunch as well.

Welcome aboard

Nowell,
Welcome to the Forum. There's lots of good info and e-pinions in the
archived messages, also in the 'Files' section.

Maybe you could post some pictures of Aquila in the photos section
sometime?

Vega's are great boats .. you made a good choice.

Hello Nowell and welcome to the world of Vegas; any questions or queries about the marque, then just post it here and wait a couple of days - the members have never yet failed to answer one of mine!
