Today we are laying over a day in Bellhaven NC. Had planned on doing grocery shopping and laundry in Elizabeth City, but just too far to walk. So, spending today getting all that done, and some boat clean up too. Weahter last couple of days has been great, but is supposed to get cold again by the end of the week. We will be off in the morning, still going south. Just to get back south of I 10, will be a joy. Have had no cell phone signal at all for a couple of days, but they have wireless at the marina here, so at least I can get on the net, and keep everyone up to date. Have had absolutely no problems with anything so far. I did manage to bump bottom yesterday just north of here, trying to get over out of the channel for another boat to pass, and wasn't watching the depth close enough. And that is the worst thing that has happened. Since the last time I bled the diesel system the engine has been perfect. Not sure what was going on, but apparently it's fixed.

Glad

Phil, Glad you trip is going well. I have a question about your new boat. How do you like it so far? How about the build quality, is it good? I was present when the builder launched his first boat. That was at Castle Harbor Marina in NJ along the Delware River, not sure what town want to say Riverside. Was not to sure how I liked his design looked like it would be very tender. The boat was pretty fast. He was a good guy and had a sense of humor about some of my questions. How soon till you get to the warmer weather? Enough questions just enjoy your trip. Good luck, Joe

Nothing but Envy

Went sailing on Wheeler lake Sunday. Great day ,good wind in the 70's temperature wise. But a poor substitute for going somewhere. Sailing in circles on a lake is great fun but I'd like a bigger circle!!!! Maybe up the east coast and back down through the great lakes and the Illinois and Tennessee rivers to Mobile!!!! The wife is getting nervous when I smile at the thought of getting fired!!! Hope that you continue to have a great trip.

There is an old Inn in Belhaven

where we spent a night in their furniture storage shed as the Inn was booked. We had a small living room, a bed an the noisiest A/C unit but we had a ball. They lent us an old Chevy van to go to town and their breakfast buffet was out of this world. I was thinking of recomending a side trip to Okracoke Island but this time of the year they are probably shut down and you need all the headway you can get southward. Next stop Oriental, NC. When you get to feel really miserable just think there a couple of hundred of us that wish we could be out there.

Phil, You might be interested

to know that our friends Dobbs and Suzanne were here for supper tonight. I mentioned that one of the members of the forum was moving a new to him boat to louisiana. And Dobbs said I think I encountered them on the C&D canal with diesel problems. He said he still hasn't been able to get the smell of diesel fuel out of his shirt and Suzanne wondered why your boat was named for a yeast infection.;) This is certainly a very small world. Ross in Bel Air PS there was skim ice on the bird bath this morning. :(
