For nearly a month we've been waiting for decent weather down here in Texas. Lo' and behold, it's holding at a steady 70 degrees today...thus, I am lead to believe that hell has frozen over! After school I'll probably be working on my Quartermaster project, the AMF Sunbird 16. Thankfully, all that's left is a bit of cosmetic work; wrapping up the fiberglass repairs, fairing and buffing the hull and rejuvenating the cockpit area (replacing the non-skid). After that I'll need to head to Banks Sails in Kemah and ask for a new mainsail for the boat because the original sail has been eaten away by some little critters. I've heard that they give discounts to Sea Scouts and can use misprinted materials to make the sail even cheaper. If anyone has any tips for hull and cabin fairing, let me know!
God Bless,
