Heaviest outboard?

I have an 86 hunter 23.5, what is the Heaviest outboard I can use, I need to hang a 78 johnson 9.9. on it for a little while. do you think its to heavy for the
engine mount on the transom? Is there a Rating I can use? Thanks Jeff

I had an evinrude fisherman on my Catalina 22. I think it was a 5 hp unit. I'd think a 9.9 would be just fine. I doubt it is that much heavier. JMHO

I've seen a lot of 23.5s with Honda 9.9s on them. So you should be okay. Look the mount board over closely and make sure the bolts are tight.
