Heating system circulator pumps

After rude sticker shock at the marine store looking at a Johnson CM 10 circulating pump for my hot water heater loop I started looking for alternatives. It turns out there is quite a bit of 12 volt equipment out there in the solar and off the grid house market. Prices are the same or higher but some appear to be more advanced design such as brushless which should be quieter and more reliable.

Anyone have experience, comments, or alternatives?

The RV market is also full of useful stuff at lower than Marine premium prices.

I looked at WW Grainger for ciculating pumps and the price seems to be about in line for that size.
