Engine Heat
West Marine sells a neat heater that uses engine heat, sharing the hot water hose that supplies engine heat to the hot water heater. Its just like a car heater. Installed one several years ago and find it brings the cabin to a comfortable temperature while goofing around with the anchor at the end of a sailing day (OK, the engine has to be used about a half hour to make it work). Once the engine is off, heat from cooking dinner in the cabin usually keeps things warm until sack time, admittedly early. In the AM the galley stove is called upon to provide heat in the cabin. That is when a bulkhead heater would be most appreciated, but I have not engineered a place for such a heater in my 34, and find it unnecessary given the little really cold weather cruising we do.
